This way, an entire network is born to get the torrent and the file would be downloaded as the availability increases. Do you trust this printer?

In many scenarios, you might come across in to situations where you might need to deploy a printer using Microsoft group policy object. You might have an idea on how to deploy a printer using a print server's Printer Manager or just directly using the group policy object itself already by now.

But what if your printer refused to install at the user's end? What if it throws an error saying "Do you trust this printer?" Well, that could take up a few hours of your precious time to figure out a solution or might take even more.

Do you trust this Printer? Yeah I do..!!

Well, today I am going to explain how you can tackle this issue using the Microsoft group policy object and eliminate it. Now here's the thing. This setting is a bit tricky to understand but I will explain a workaround to get away with it too.

I believe you are good in deploying the printer using the group policy object and using the Printer Manager Object. Based on that, I will not go back and explain on how to do that but will carry on how to solve the above warning prompt.

So here's what you will do. You will go to the Group Policy object that you have selected to deploy the printer and navigate to User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Printers. There are three settings that directly affect this message appearance. You need to customize them as shown below to avoid it appearing.

Here are the settings you need to play with.

Step 1. Enable the Package Point and Print on your printers

Select your Printer Servers as Approved Servers

Get these restrictions right

The most important two settings

Well, here there are two combo boxes giving you multiple answers to pick from. On the Security Prompts, as the first choice for the query When installing drivers for a new connection, I will choose "Do not show warning or elevation prompt"to avoid the message appearance.

For the second query of When updating drivers for an existing connection, I will select "Show warning only". This will prompt me again to this message. Now here's the thing. I have been experimenting with this two setting for over a month and I could not figure out why it is not working when I select this option as "Do not show warning or elevation prompt". For some unknown reason, it never did worked for me. If you have similar experience please let me know with your environment so that it may lead to a hint to identify why it is not working. My environment is a Windows Server 2012 on print Server, Windows Server 2008 R2 on AD and Windows Server 2008 R2s as clients.

Now here's another trick. You can now control your printer deployment and if.. only if it gives you an error during update of the printer or lets say it says the drivers need to be updated or sort of a thing, all you need to do is., Delete the existing printer : run GPupdate once. Be aware that this sometimes do not work and in those scenarios use the switch /force and it will be working fine. But that was something a bit rare according to my experience.

So here we go with another update. Let me know your feedback and I would love to hear from you.
